Interested in furthering your knowledge of integrative medicine? Then tune in this summer to the popular PBS series โHealing Quest,โ a weekly national television show that provides information on integrative health and natural approaches to well-being. In an episode that is currently airing and will be rotating in various PBS markets through October, board certified pediatrician Lindy Woodard, MD, explains how homeopathic medicines and an integrative wellness approach deliver results with her patients.
โI found my way to integrative medicine through my stomach. My love of food, a brother with celiac disease, and a sensitive stomach sent me to my laboratory, the kitchen. I have always felt that food is medicine and can be the cause and cure for many childhood diseases such as allergies and eczema,โ says Dr. Woodward, mother of two. โI consider homeopathy, nutrition and gut health to be the framework for understanding wellness and curing disease.โ
Dr. Woodard sees patients through Pediatric Alternatives, a group practice in Mill Valley, Calif., northwest of San Francisco. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Milwaukee Childrenโs Hospital in 1982.
Tune in this summer to see how Dr. Woodardโs integrative approach helps her pediatric patients. The episode airs in San Francisco on July 11 and 25; in New York City on July 15 and 22; in Sacramento on July 29; in Los Angeles on August 19 and 26; and in St. Louis on August 21 and 28.
