“When choosing a homeopathic medicine to counter a cold symptom or cough, look for the most outstanding features of the cold to match the most outstanding of the medicine,” says American homeopath, author, and mother of three, Joette Calabrese, HMC, PHom M. “It takes practice, but once you become adroit with homeopathy, you’ll find out just how well it works as an individualized treatment.” With cold and flu season just around the corner, this video will help you learn when to use these single homeopathic medicines—Antimonium tartaricum, Kali iodatum, Natrum muriaticum, Pulsatilla and Spongia tosta—to help relieve common cough and cold symptoms.

  1. Hi. I would like to purchase Kali Muriaticum but not sure of the dose. The one I had is a 6c, but I’m seeing there are 12c and 30c. Not sure which one I should purchase. Can you please explain the differences

    Thank you,
    Bobbi

    1. Hi Bobbi, homeopathic medicines come in several different dilutions. Generally, low dilutions (such as 6C and 9C) are for local symptoms which only affect one area of the body, such as an insect bite or bruise. High dilutions like 12C and 30C are for general symptoms affecting the whole body, like a cold, fever or sleeplessness. This is merely fine tuning, and you should see a lessening of symptoms regardless of which dilution you choose. Kali muriaticum is commonly used for nasal congestion which affects your nasal passages, sinuses, and other parts of your respiratory system. So a 30C dilution would be ideal, but if you only have 6C, then you will still experience relief. If you have any more questions about picking a dilution, we’ll be happy to help.
