Author Chris Gilbert, MD, Shares Her Favorite Homeopathic Medicines

“I personally use homeopathy. My favorite [medicines] are Oscillococcinum, which I take at the first sign of flu-like symptoms, and Histaminum, since I tend to have hay fever," says Dr. Gilbert. "I have also used Gelsemium sempervirens a lot in my life to be less emotional before an exam. I took 5 pellets of Gelsemium sempervirens 12C or 30C the evening before each of my exams and 5 pellets the morning of. With this [medicine], I was much less emotional (I used to panic at exams), which helped me get excellent grades. Gelsemium is made from the plant yellow jasmine.
