Summary:
The Assistant Team Leader is responsible for providing assistance and coordination of Order Process and Inventory Management. Maintaining a highly motivated staff of employees and assist supervising employees who operate assigned stations along a processing line.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a highly motivated, quality-conscious, team oriented staff.
- Training: according to the needs, proposing individual or collective training to increase employeeโs knowledge, skills and performance. Depending on his/her knowledge of the subject, and training capacities, the Assistant Team Leader may conduct the training himself/herself.
- Assist with the development and implementation of operations and policies.
- Operate forklift to move product and material.
- Assist the Assistant Branch Manager in writing annual Performance and Development Conferences (PDC) or on as an as needed basis. Monitors an individualโs objectives and progress and ensures regular follow up meetings, assessing training needs and proposing promotions and pay increases.
- Motivate, encourage, and provide feedback to staff and helps establish career paths.
- Actively encourage interdepartmental communication and cooperation
- Report progress and problems to Assistant Branch Manager or other management
- Participate in Team Leader Meetings
- Communicating with Customer Service Department to schedule the completion of large orders. Communicate with Colleagues in corresponding branch on operational issues.
- Dispatch daily orders for assemble/selection.
- Assessing the workload and assigning tasks according to the priorities, the staffโs availability and individual competencies, with the best possible results in terms of quality and efficiency.
- Assist Branch Management in planning and organizing the daily, weekly, monthly fixed tasks. Scheduling vacation time, long leaves of absence, turnover, etc. Modifying schedule as required by unforeseen events.
- Along with Branch Management, monitor the departmentโs activity: following up and analyzing activity ratios, hours spent in fixed tasks. Researching, suggesting and implementing methods to improve quality and productivity.
- Ensure that daily goals are met.
- Supervision and verify accuracy of orders picked from stock.
- Inspect all materials for damage or defects.
- Supervising inventory control duties such as assessment of reordering levels, security stocks, answer frequency of orders, and maintaining freight cost related to inventory at minimal level.
- Shipping and receiving of incoming returns and orders.
- Evaluate current processes and methods used in the warehouse and look for ways to improve productivity within the group. Design and implement systems to address specific problems with regard to all group functions.
- Maintain compliance with FDA and other regulations through implementation of company SOPโs
- Communicate daily with employees to reinforce corporate Safety Practices
- Second verifier for batch documentation for assemblies.
- Maintain internal cycle count and order process.
- Oversee in activities associated with all GMP documentation maintained by QA.
- Assist as audit host for all regulatory inspections for company.
- Scan all completed pick tickets and invoices to our corporate office to get filed in a daily basis.
- Collect incoming mail and send outgoing mail on a daily basis.
- Assist in opening or closing the facility.
Requirements:
- Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires the ability to read and follow instructions.
- At least two years’ experience as a warehouse team member.
- Certified licensed forklift driver.
- Must be a team player, analytical thinker, and quality oriented.
- Ability to organize workload and staffing in a small team.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond with flexibility and a sense of urgency to business needs in a pressured environment while sustaining high levels of quality and service standards.
- High level of interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong alliances with team members and across lines to other operational individuals and teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail, as demonstrated through consistently accurate work.
- Computer Proficiency โ experienced with developing and presenting data in (MS Excel and Word)
- Demonstrates good judgment and creative problem solving in troubleshooting and identifying process improvement opportunities and techniques.
- Demonstrates project responsibility and leadership.
- Demonstrates and applies a general understanding of different communication preferences within their work group as well as others they interact with.
- Ability to travel domestic (primarily) and international (occasionally) locations (up to 20% travel required), which may include overnight and/or weekend travel
