Make Wellness a Priority on World Health Day

We all know the importance that healthy habits and physical fitness can have toward a good quality of life, but it can be a struggle to stay on track. Sometimes your health takes a backseat to children, work, or other obligations.

Let this year’s World Health Day, being observed on Sunday, April 7, serve as a reminder to make health for yourself a priority. And if you need a little extra inspiration, look to Henry Tseng. Believed to be the oldest man in America until his recent passing, Tseng was proof that exercise can lead to a long and healthy life. This 111-year-old exercised every day, even up to the day before his death.

If Tseng’s story motivates you to put on a pair of sneakers and head out the door, make sure you stretch before exercise to prevent injury. You can warm up your muscles by walking and gently swinging your arms, engaging in a low-intensity activity for five minutes, or practicing a low-impact yoga pose. Be sure to hold your stretches for at least 30 seconds. Need some more ideas? Check out some of these stretches and the right way to do them here.

If you manage to overdo it despite a proper warm-up, then reach for your favorite Arnicare topical to help with recovery. Arnicare relieves muscle pain and stiffness due to minor injuries, overexertion, and falls.* Made from Arnica montana, a type of mountain daisy, Arnicare can also reduce pain, swelling, and discoloration from bruises.*
